Acts 20:22-24
"And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God."

A Free Gift for You

Interestingly enough, I had to go to church every Sunday as a child. But never once did anyone explain to me that I needed a Savior. Sure, I heard about Jesus. But He was nothing more than some religious figure. He certainly had no bearing on my life day to day. I personally thought that all those people who went to church just needed to get a life! What was the point, I wondered? I certainly couldn’t see one.

Then one day… January 31, 1999 I heard the story.

The Bible teaches that Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and when that happened, all of mankind became sinful and separated from God. Therefore, every single person born since then is born sinful and separated from God. Yes! Even innocent little babies! But God made a way for us to be restored back to him, and that was by sending His Son Jesus to the earth to die on the cross. When Jesus died on the cross, He took the penalty for all of our sins (past, present and future) upon Himself. But until we admit we are sinful, repent for our sin and ask him to be our Lord and Savior, we remain separated from God.

God created mankind for one primary reason: So we would know Him and have a relationship with Him.

Someone once asked Jesus:  "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"  Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'  This is the first and greatest commandment. Matt 22:36-38

Regarding this commandment, God says in Deut 6:5-12These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates…

Over the many years since this command was given by God, many have not told their children about Him, and therefore they were unable to tell their children about Him, and so on, and so on, and so on… until the majority of the world today does not know Him.

But the good news is that it’s never too late! So wherever you fit in the grand scheme of things, if you don’t know Him today, you can. I am introducing you to Him today so that if you choose, you can learn to Love the Lord Your God with all your Heart, with all your Soul and with all your Mind. And if you haven’t told your children about Him yet, you still can!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

…if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Rom 10:9

No one took Jesus life. He laid down His life for YOU.  He loves you more than anyone else ever will (or can.)

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

To accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, just pray this simple prayer and mean it in your heart. There must be a moment of surrender in your heart where you truly acknowledge Him as Lord. This is the only way to no longer be separated from God.

Lord, I admit that I am a sinner. I invite you to come into my heart and into my life and change me. I believe that you are the Son of God and you died for my sins. I repent and ask forgiveness. I want to be reunited with you and live my life according to the plan you had for me when you knit me together in my mother's womb. I believe I was created for a purpose and I want to live in that purpose. I commit myself to you now and surrender my life to you. Please forgive all of my sins and be my Lord and Savior. In Jesus Name,  AMEN.

If you just prayed that prayer and meant it, you are now a Child of God and the Bible says you have been made a “new creation.”  Jesus Christ just paid the penalty for all your sin and cleansed you from the effects of the sinful nature you inherited from Adam. He has made you new on the inside and will begin to heal your life from the inside out. Get yourself an easy to read version of the Bible and start with the book of John. You will begin to learn about who God is and build a relationship with Him.

It is important that you get plugged in to a life giving church and build Christian relationships - you have to nurture and cultivate the Seed of God that has been planted inside of you. God's pure and Holy Spirit now lives inside of you and the goal is to learn to recognize the Holy Spirit and let Him lead and guide you.

God is real and he wants to have a personal relationship with you. It’s not about rules and regulations, it’s about taking time daily to sit quietly and talk to God. Be sure to take time to listen too. Soon you will begin to sense that still, small voice speaking to your heart and mind. He loves you so much that He sent His Son to die so He could have this relationship with you!
